Presentation, Wine Tasting, & Book Signing with the Author of "Palmento," Robert Camuto

Inspired by a deep passion for wine as well as his Italian heritage, Robert V. Camuto set out to explore Sicily’s emerging wine scene. What he discovered during more than a year of traveling the region was far more than a fascinating wine frontier.  Chronicling his journey through Palermo to Marsala, across the rugged interior of Sicily to the heights of Mt. Etna, Camuto captures the personalities and flavors and the traditions and natural riches that have made Italy’s largest and oldest wine region the world traveler’s newest discovery. The result of his research, experiences, and inspiration is his latest book ~ “Palmento.”

The Italian Club of Dallas (ICD) is pleased to welcome author Robert Camuto to the Clubhouse  for a presentation about his travels through Sicily while researching the book, the evolution and improvement of Sicilian wine production, and what he discovered to be “the essence of wine– sharing with others in a sort of communion with the world of living things.”  Along with the presentation, Camuto will lead participants in a tasting of Sicilian wines, describing their various qualities, characteristics, and nuances.  Copies of “Palmento,” listed by Wine Spectator magazine as one of its “Best New Reads for Wine Lovers,” will also be available for purchase and will be personalized by the author.

The presentation is offered at no cost.  There will be a nominal charge for the wine tasting, payable at the Clubhouse on the night of the event for those who would like to participate.
